The Porsche 911 is not only the most popular choice of race car on earth it is also the worlds most successful. Where there is a will there is a way and so you can find one of Porsche’s fabled machines in nearly every class of racing. Last year the Germans pushed new boundaries with the 911 Hybrid and success followed this monster with a green heart wherever it went. This year it is back!
Welcome to version 2.0 of the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid. It’s lighter, it’s more powerful and Porsche intend to score highly in the up and coming Nurburgring 24 Hour. The flat-six produces 470BHP not to mention that the cars KERS will boost that by a further 200BHP. This is innovation right here as Porsche plans to introduce these “green” performance technologies across its range in the coming years.
The company ended their press release with: “More power on less fuel, more efficiency and lower CO2 emissions – on the race track and on the road.”
