The estate car is one of the most versatile body types you could place on four wheels. It is practical beyond belief and offers vast levels of space to all occupants, be it humans or Ben the dog. In fact, up until the crossover took over, the estate car was the most popular in the UK dominating sales particularly during the 90’s. Audi has never given up on their estates and there is one particular model that always impressed us right out of the box. The RS6.

More supercar than family workhorse, that’s if you only read the numbers, the 2013 Audi RS6 is one of the most mind boggling machines you will read about. This very practical, comfortable, German estate is capable of 190MPH when the “Dynamic Package Plus” option is ticked. That staggering top speed is thanks to a monstrous twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 that produces 552BHP as well as a tarmac torturing 516lb-ft of torque. Despite having a 0-62MPH time of just 3.9 seconds the new RS6 Avant is still capable of 28MPG.

Prices are to start at £77,000
