2013 McLaren MP4-12C Gets 616BHP


McLaren’s MP4-12C has been selling like supercar hotcakes. Over 1,000 units have been delivers since the cars launch a year ago. The Formula One champions have successfully transferred their winning know-how onto the road and taken on their ultimate race rivals Ferrari. For 2013 the MP4-12C gets some upgrades that should make their Italian rivals just a tad uneasy.

This updates model gains an extra 25BHP bringing the total output from the 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 to a colossal 616BHP. The 0-62MPH time has not changed but the cars top speed in now 207MPH and acceleration from 0-186MPH can now be achieved in just 26.5 seconds. McLaren have also made changes to the 7-speed gearbox allowing for more ferocious cog swapping. With these changes you would be forgiven for being a little gutted if you purchased the car last year. Well, that would be the case but McLaren will make all these changes to all existing MP4-12C’s free of charge.
