Today everything is getting bigger. Small cars are not so small anymore for a multitude of reasons, but once upon a time you could buy something as tiny as an original Mini and still be in a standard class of car. Mercedes’ GL class is a big brute and for 2013 it has taken a direct hit from the super-size me gun.
It’s predecessor was no small machine and so with the 2013 model becoming taller, wider and longer it really is a mammoth. The new styling alterations to the body give the GL a much more butch stance befitting of a car that could cast a shadow over just about anything. Power comes from either a V6 with 240BHP and 455lb-ft, or two twin-turbo V8’s with the range topping GL550 producing 429BHP and 516lb-ft of torque.
