The Lagonda sub-brand of Aston Martin has been absent from the motoring landscape since 1989 when the Aston Martin Lagonda luxury saloon retired from production. Since then Aston Martin has had a desire to revive the name once again, but when a concept luxury SUV was met with media backlash in 2009, it appeared the dream was over. Or so we thought… 2015 Aston Martin Lagonda Revealed.
Thankfully Aston Martin has dropped that ghastly SUV concept in favour of a super saloon that harks back to the original Aston Martin Lagonda. The long proud stance of the car clearly shares similarities to its forefather, but its edgy detailing and long body lines bring it bang up to date. Much like the very special Aston Martin One-77, the Aston Martin Lagonda is to be exclusive and the opportunity to purchase is by invitation only. Each car will be tailored to its owners desire by Aston Martin’s bespoke division, Q. There will be an extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the model including much of the bodywork.
There are very few other details available at this moment in time, however, we do expect the Aston Martin Lagonda to be powered by a 5.9 litre V12 engine.
