The 2015 Ford Focus midlife refresh has made bigger and more important changes to the car than any other revision to the product lifecycle before it. Usually you get a new bumper and maybe some headlights, but with stiff competition from the new VW Golf, Ford set out to make the update the best handling car in its class once again. Based upon the same platform, the 2015 Ford C-Max receives the similar treatment.
The most noticeable change externally is the cars large chromed grill which now mimics those of its fellow models. A subtle bulge to the bonnet is another visual link to the 2015 Focus along with the more tapered lights. Around the back, smaller lights execute the clean design. Inside an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system replaces the dated “mobile phone” arrangement of old. Ford claim that this car promotes the use of higher quality materials which are used to create a more modern appearance. Petrol engines include the award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost with either 99BHP or 123BHP and the 1.5 litre unit producing 148BHP or 178BHP. Two diesels join the lineup in the form of a 1.5 TDCi (94BHP or 113BHP) as well as the 2.0 litre TDCi (148BHP or 168BHP.) Revisions to the chassis promise to further enhance handling.
The 2015 Ford C-Max goes on sale in the UK next summer.
