Unlucky number 13? Ford certainly hopes to prove that wrong with the all-new F-150 pick-up truck. Entering its 13th incarnation, the F series has been a staple for Ford since its introduction in 1948. F-150 is actually one of the worlds best selling cars and for the 2014 Detroit motor show Ford have unveiled the 2015 Ford F-150.
Taking design inspiration from the Ford Atlas Concept of last year, the cars robust appearance is dominated by a tall chrome grill. I think the best word to describe its visual aesthetic is domineering. That bodywork is made from an aluminium alloy that helps the 2015 Ford F-150 loose 317KG over its predecessor. Engines consist of a new 3.5 litre V6, a 5.0 litre V8 and a 2.7 litre turbocharged EcoBoost V6. The latter of these three aims to offer good levels of performance whilst improving upon fuel economy, the best of both worlds if you like. Inside the cabin has been modernised and features more a up-to-date dashboard akin to those found on other Ford models. A chunky utilitarian design runs down the console bringing those bold exterior design features inside. The F-150 is now available with pillarless suicide rear doors to allow the loading of bulky objects behind the driver, much like the B-Max.
