The third generation of the Honda Jazz is set to arrive in the UK in the Summer of 2015. The Jazz has always been a very popular car, largely thanks to being able to do pretty much whatever you want from it in normal day-to-day life. In this new instalment – the driver and passengers will experience improved safety and infotainment systems as well as a higher level of refinement than before.
Despite keeping to the classic Jazz profile we have become used too, the new Jazz has a more contemporary and sharp design with it’s new face and bold lines. Also, thanks to a new chassis, this new version is also more spacious on the inside, which is where Honda’s Magic Seats are, meaning a very versatile space for passengers and luggage. Also in the well thought-out interior there is a seven-inch touchscreen with the company’s new infotainment system: Honda Connect, which offers access to the internet, real-time news, traffic and weather as well as internet music stations.
The power source for the 2015 Jazz is an efficient yet dynamic 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine from the manufacturers Earth Dreams Technology series and delivers 100bhp with a six-speed manual transmission – replacing the old five-speed configuration – or a semi-automatic CVT transmission. This new engine is coupled with the lighter and stiffer chassis and re-engineered suspension – enabling a more engaging and responsive experience. There is also the Advanced Driver Assist System package, which will be introduced across the Honda range over the coming year.
Honda’s designers have also gone to work on further improving the Jazz’s class-leading space and usability. The car is 9.5cm longer than the version before, meaning even more space for passengers and cargo. The before unrivalled boot space has been increased further and, combined with the Magic Seats, allows numerous configurations for a more functional space.
The Jazz is everything many people want from a car: it’s reliable, spacious, contemporary and versatile and this new 2015 model means the Jazz will almost certainly remain a favoured choice among buyers.
