Porsche produces a flavour of 911 for just about anyone. The range is so vast that if you can’t find a Porsche for you then you are too fussy for reality. For those who like their lives a little bit more hardcore, the GT3 RS has been your answer. With the introduction of the 991 incarnation a few years ago, the whole range gets a new platform. The GT3 impressed, but the new 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS aims to blow your mind.
Making its world debut at the Geneva motor show, this Porsche 911 GT3 RS is powered by a 4.0 litre flat six engine, the standard GT3 has just 3.8 litres, and churns out 493BHP. Torque is rated at 384lb ft. All of that potential is sent to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. A new aluminium body means that this GT3 RS weighs just 1,420KG. The car wears an extensive aerodynamic package which includes a large front splitter, rear diffuser and huge rear wing. It also adopts air intakes mounted on its hips from the Turbo model. Another design feature of note are the air ducts which serve to reduce lift at high speed. 0-62MPH clocks in at 3.3 seconds and 0-124MPH is completed in 10.9 seconds. Top speed is over 200MPH. This car has lapped the Nurburgring in an impressive 7 minutes 20 seconds.
