The Porsche Boxster has always had a lot of potential, not just in sales. This mid-engined convertible with fantastic balance puts a lot of other more costly sports cars to shame. In its latest incarnation the Porsche Boxster is better than ever and actually might persuade some 911 drivers to go for a ride due to its smaller size. Revealed at the New York motor show, the new 2015 Porsche Boxster Spyder is the most potent variation yet.
A key focus has been placed on reducing weight in the Boxster Spyder and as a result it weighs 105KG less than a Boxster GTS. Powered by a 3.8 litre flat-six out of the 911, this car produces 370BHP. 0-62MPH is done and dusted in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180MPH is achievable. Ride hight has been lowered by 20mm thanks to new sports suspension and upgraded brakes, also from a 911, feature. Lack of satellite navigation, air conditioning and an electric roof all contributes to how light it is. Rear bonnet bulges and a more aggressive front lip enhances the exterior.
Costing from £60,459 the 2015 Porsche Boxster Spyder hits showrooms this July, and we want one!
