2015 Porsche Cayenne GTSPorsche have announced a new 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS model. The original Cayenne GTS was released back in 2007 but now it is new, improved, and even more powerful. A 3.6-litre V6 engine with two turbos is responsible for producing a massive 440bhp, 20 more than before, whilst fuel consumption is reduced from the previous V8 version.  It goes from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds, which is half a second faster than before, or if that isn’t fast enough for you in a big SUV, then the Sport Chrono package will chop the time down to 5.1 seconds. It can also achieve a blistering top speed of 162mph.

Design characteristics such as the Turbo nose section with large air intakes, the Sport Design Package with more contoured side sills and wheel arches give the new 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS a more sporty presence. This sporty theme is continued in the cabin; eight-way electrically adjustable GTS sports seats are available in either leather or alcantara, complete with ‘GTS’ lettering on the head restraints as standard.

The entry-level model of the Cayenne is also being premiered alongside the GTS. This version will also have a 3.6-litre V6 but without the turbos, meaning it produces 300bhp and go from 0-62 in 7.7 seconds, or 7.6 with the Sport Chrono package. This 0-62 time is 0.2 seconds faster than the previous model and has a top speed of 143 mph. Fuel consumption also falls in this model compared to the previous version due to efficiency measures such as coasting, auto start/stop function and thermal management.

In comparison to the previous Cayenne, the new version also comes with more toys as standard; these include the new eight speed Tiptronic S gearbox, bi-xenon headlights with LED driving lights, a multi-function sports steering wheel, as well all the fuel conserving add-ons mentioned earlier.

Both Cayenne’s will make their premieres on the 19th November at the Los Angeles Auto Show this year. The entry Cayenne is priced at £49,576 and the GTS variant at £72,523.
