A revised model of Toyota’s GT86 is to be released in January with a price cut of £2,500 from the current model. The GT86 is highly acclaimed as one of the best sports coupés on the market and despite the lower price tag and a few small changes, the performance of the car remains identical. The ethos of the GT86 then, still seems to come down to the pure pleasure of driving.
The Primo model, entry level, still comes with all the comforts that a modern driver demands but will have to do without luxuries such as a rear spoiler, keyless entry, push-button start and cruise control which is available on higher specifications.
Owners will still enjoy the 2.0-litre boxer engine at the front which fires 197bhp to the rear wheels. This power can now be experienced at an official price of £22,995, which is still over £2,000 less than the current GT86, but customers who are early enough will have a further £500 slashed off of the price.
Also, a new GT86 Aero model will join the line up with prices from £26,495. This boasts a new body kit, a large rear spoiler, front and rear skirts, all finished off with 18-inch alloy wheels.
The icing on the cake for the GT86 range is the special edition Giallo model. This has heated leather seats, only available in manual transmission, GT86 side decal and metallic yellow paintwork. As well as these add-ons you will be in an exclusive group of owning 1 of the 86 available in the UK. The GT86 Giallo is priced as £27,495.
