The Ford Fiesta has been with us for 40 years which is quite the achievement! Then factor in that it is the United Kingdoms best selling car and you soon realise what an institution this little hatchback really is. I do not envy the team behind the all-new 2017 Ford Fiesta as for 4 decades it has been a tough act to followup on. But the time has come and the world is waiting… This is the 2017 Ford Fiesta.
Full details on this car are under embargo until tomorrow morning, but from these images we get our first close-up look at the next generation car.
The 2017 Ford Fiesta takes an evolutionary design direction as opposed to revolutionary. The proportions are broadly similar to its predecessor, although the front end has been heavily reworked. The trapezoid grill now has more defined edges. There is more intricate design work around the front headlights on the bumper. In regards to the headlights, they appear to have been shrunk and set further into the bodywork. A familiar crease runs the length of the car leading the eye rearward. The boot lid is quite heavily sculpted and features a domed piece of glass. Revealed in four flavours, this more upmarket 2017 Ford Fiesta aims to appeal to a wider audience than before.
In Titanium guise it showed off its full length glass panoramic roof, a truly premium feature in this segment. ST-Line hints at what the full-blooded ST may offer with a sporty bodykit and darkened grills. Vignale will now be available on this B-Segment car with a bespoke interior and luxury perks. The Active model is something we haven’t seen on Fiesta before. A more rugged look with roof rails and plastic cladding in the arches.
