3,500BHP Mini at Goodwood

Goodwood in the past has had some extraordinary exhibitions, some wacky and some wonderful. This new addition to the 2010 Festival of Speed can be classed as both for a very good reason. Cummmins, the world’s largest independent diesel engine manufacturers, are bringing a 78 litre V18 original Mini Cooper!

The highly modified Mini has been decapitated in order for the industrial diesel to be fitted. The entire contraption looks madder than anything the hatter could muster as the engine itself is larger than the car. This “not so Mini” has 12 turbochargers, 14,000NM of torque and 3,500BHP!!!!!!!! (Those exclamation marks are very necessary.)

No word on performance figures but do remember that despite all this power the engine alone weighs 11 tonnes.
