The Goodwood Festival of Speed is fast approaching and today the annual events centrepiece was unveiled. Last year Audi provided the feature and produced a rather impressive monument that included an Audi R8 V10 being suspended far above the ground. This year Alfa Romeo has been tasked with this prestigious challenge and with it being their centenary, they didn’t want to disappoint.
The Alfa centrepiece shows a huge metal sculpture that suspends an 8C beside one of only two P2 racers. The P2 in question won the very first championship for what was then known as Grand Prix and is estimated to be worth £17,000,000. They had best hope that the statue can hold the weight as it would be a very costly accident if the unthinkable was to happen.
