Alfa Romeo’s are without question the ultimate drivers cars. No other machine communicates so fluently with the user bringing nothing but a smile to their face. Ok that is when it isn’t broken down on the side of the M27, though for years now Alfa’s have been on par with reliability. The Italian company are pushing a resurgence in the USA and a by-product of this is a new model for both the US and Europe. Though it is nothing like any Alfa Romeo that has gone before it.
We heard whisperings of an Alfa SUV from our sources last year but now we know for sure it has been given the green light. It is to be built in Italy and the platform is also to be shared with two Jeep models. The Turin plant is to get a 1.3 billion euro investment in preparation for the new cars. The Alfa Romeo soft-roader will compete with the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLK. Expect to see the first car roll off the line come 2012.
