The Ariel Atom is one of the most astonishingly pure machines on wheels. This small British car is the real life David capable of taking on the much larger Goliaths of Ferrari and Porsche. Whilst those two big names are not direct competitors, when it comes to performance figures this sports car has more than made a name for itself. A bonkers V8 Atom was introduced with a crazy 0-62MPH time of just 2.3 seconds. Ariel are again looking to produce a new model but this time it is maddening for an entirely different reason. Taking a running jump out of their comfort zone, the Ariel Nomad is an off-roader!
Looking like a Dakar special, this first image shows what Ariel have in store for a January unveiling. Based upon the Atom, this Ariel Nomad is a 700KG off-roader promising supercar humbling performance on road with dune buggy-like off-road ability. Powered by the same 2.0 litre Honda V-TEC engine as the Atom, this car wouldn’t look out of place on the set of Mad Max. Its almost apocalyptic appearance is minimalist but also hardy. If we were 6, this is likely what we would want for our daily driver.
More details on this little menace next year.
