Aston Martin have a proud racing heritage attached to them and when a few years ago they remerged at Le Mans, and dominated their class, the modern-day Aston circle was complete. Currently Aston Martin competes in the LMP2 category but today they have announced that this year will see the leap into the prestigious LMP1 prototype class.
Named the AMR-ONE this car must face some tuff competition in 2011. Peugeot and their redesigned 908 are the current favourites not to mention defending champions, Audi, who are reluctant to just give up. Cars 007 and 009 will line up for the famed 24 hour race with a 2.0 litre 6 cylinder direct injection petrol engine, not diesel like all the big guns in this class. The car itself in Gulf Racing colours looks great and we wish the team every success.
