We have known of the Audi A7’s existence for a good 8 months now after watching test mules lap the “ring” countless times as well as the odd leaked photo here and there, but it is now that the German manufacturer formally unveils the car. The A7 plugs the arguably unnecessary gap between the A6 and A8 bringing a slightly more aggressive weapon to the super luxury segment.
This new car has an aluminium/steel body making it 15% lighter than an all steal equivalent as well as a range topping 3.0 litre TDI with 500NM of torque. It also has a seven speed S-Tronic twin clutch gearbox for all Quattro models. The A7 is the 35th addition to Audi’s currant range edging them ever closer to their target of 40 and orders will be taken from August 16th starting at the princely sum of £42,925. Consumers can expect their car to arrive early 2011.
