CarFest has grown dramatically since its inception and the driving force behind it, new Top Gear host Chris Evans, wanted this year to be bigger than ever. A high octane motoring event that involved all of the latest and greatest from the automotive landscape, all proceeds go to the fantastic charity Children in Need. Other celebrities attend to show their support, and often their own prized possessions. Sadly CarFest North saw a terrible plane crash that claimed the life of the pilot, but the show must go on, and for a very good cause!
Tickets sold out for CarFest South this year and despite the vast amount of rain whilst setting up, organisers did a fine job preventing Laverstoke Park Farm from turning into MudFest. This event attracts people of all ages with such a variety of cars on show. Evans’ “Dirty Dozen” feature some amazing machines including priceless Ferrari’s. Also in attendance for its first public outing was the new Aston Martin GT12. Check out our video HERE. A quick scout around the paddock revealed two LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, Mercedes-AMG GT, Ferrari 458 Speciale and many more poster cars. Classic racers, rally, and F1 cars added an element of motorsport. As each legend fired off down the demo straight the crowds cheered, the atmosphere was great. On top of that Paul Swift and his merry men were on hand wowing the spectators with some impressive stunt driving. Live music headlined by Scouting For Girls went on into the night.
CarFest is win-win as you get to enjoy some of the worlds rarest cars whilst children who really do require your support get the money they so desperately need.
Good show Chris!
