Typically American cars do not sell well in Europe. Different tastes and expectations separate the markets and so we have the reason behind the trend. Chevy have been making a big push to boost brand popularity outside of the USA and its Spark has done very well. Even in the UK I tend to see a couple a week buzzing about town, not something I can say for other American manufacturers. Chevy are planning an electric Spark for 2013.
Thinking about its name logically this move was inevitable and with electric cars becoming more common, a small platform such as the Spark’s makes sense. To initially be be sold in small volumes and only in the states to begin with, the Spark EV uses the traditional lithium-ion batteries that we are familiar with already.
More details on range and performance to come.
