Citroen these days are really on a roll with producing cars people might actually want to buy. What once was a sea of bland unappetizing French trollies has been transformed over the past few years into funky urban heros. The C5 is brilliant and the DS3 is a return to form for French hot-hatches. After the release of the premium DS4 Citroen has now unveiled the DS5 for the Shanghai auto show.
Based on last years C-SportLounge concept, the DS5 is a very well sculpted machine that is designed to compete with the likes of Mini’s Countryman. The car uses the new HYbrid4 drivetrain and with its boasts CO2 emissions of just 99g/km. The five-seat hatch also claims 465 litres of boot space as well as a “driving position worthy of a Gran Turismo.” Inside the interior is lavished with extra helpings of leather and aluminum. Citroen are well on their way to defining interior quality in its segment.
