The automotive world is going through something of a hybrid revolution as performance cars have, just like in Formula One and WEC, embraced hybrid systems that boost performance. Whilst having a battery pack onboard adds weight, its instant torque that can be delivered and ability to plug turbo lag has resulted in a generation of hyper cars that are faster than ever. LaFerrari is one such machine utilising electrical power alongside a V12 engine that is naturally aspirated, unlike its competitors. The track-based Ferrari FXX K has been spotted testing at Imola.
Very well known as the track where Ayrton Senna died, Imola is a demanding circuit and ideal for pushing one of the most extreme Ferraris ever. Its 6.3 litre V12 engine in conjunction with electric motors produce 1,021BHP. 0-62MPH takes just 3 seconds. The aggressive styling is not just for show as it generates over 540KG of downforce at 120MPH, double that of LaFerrari.
Four Ferrari FXX K arrived at the track with a fantastic soundtrack accompanying them. For the first time we also see the car in other colours than red. We particularly like it in white! Check out the video below of these fabled creatures in action.
