British Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has been charged by Australian law for “intentionally losing control of a vehicle.” Hamilton was caught by Oz police after performing burnouts and power sliding his Mercedes-Benz around the streets of Melbourne.
The court hearing is to take place on 24th August in Melbourne; there is no word yet on Lewis’ punishment but whatever the outcome it is likely to impact on his mentality for the Belgian GP beginning just three days later.
Lewis has publicly apologized for his actions and fully accepts responsibility for what he has done. We hope the law doesn’t come down too hard on him as he has immediately put his hands up to the offence and not caused the authorities any bother. However the Australians are very keen on their road safety and could well make an example of him.
