The automotive world has seen its fair share of astonishing record holders. As designers, engineers and petrol heads crave machines that push boundaries and go ever faster, it is this desire that has produces legends such as the McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron and Hennessey Venom. The latter of those three clocked 270MPH making it the fastest road legal car you can go out and buy, though was denied the official record on a technicality. Hennessey is back to take the crown of world fastest production car from Bugatti once again with the Hennessey Venom F5.
Upgrading the Venom from the ground up, this comprehensive overhaul that is the Hennessey Venom F5 is expected to reach 290MPH thanks to over 1,400HP. Still using the Lotus Else based chassis, this new aerodynamically enhanced body looks menacing. The new shape is not only capable of cutting through the air more effectually, but also producing much needed downforce. 7.0 litres of V8 grunt will power 30 of these cars to crazy speeds with each also having the option of a single clutch paddle shift gearbox.
The battle for hyper car supremacy is hotting up. Bugatti are planning the Veyron’s successor as I type this. Can Hennessey take the title?
