Enzo Ferrari once called it “the most beautiful car in the world.” Today it is a British icon and over 50 years later is still craved for the world over. The Jaguar E-Type is one of the greatest cars to ever be produced and since 1975, when production ended, the world has been waiting for a true successor. The C-X16 Concept previewed something that could fit the bill and it was received so well that Jag is making a very brave move… The car will be called the F-Type.
This is our first look at what the 2013 machine will bring and though cladded in that static you get when your T.V. loses signal, you can tell it’s going to be a looker. To initially be produced as a convertible, with a coupe coming in 2014, the F-Type will clock 0-62MPH in under 5 seconds and promises a top speed that exceeds 180MPH. The new car is to share another trait with the fabled E-Type. It will be well priced. The E-type undercut rivals prices dramatically back in its day and now Jaguar promises a price point lower than a Porsche 911 for the F-Type.
