Lamborghini Asterion Concept is a new Breed of Bull

Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 frontLamborghini is a company that doesn’t do things halfheartedly. Just take a look through their history and you can clearly see that every model has been followed through with absolute conviction. The Miura, a founders dream. The Countach, a comic book hero. The Diablo, a truly raging bull. All the way through to todays Aventador and Huracan the Italians have always followed their vision of extreme machines. The Lamborghini Asterion is unlike any Lamborghini that has gone before it, but still shares in their philosophy.

The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, named after a half-man-half-bull minotaur, is a new breed of raging bull. Powered by a 5.2 litre mid-mounted V10 engine and three electric motors, this plug-in hybrid first for the company produces a staggering 898BHP. See what we mean? Lamborghini don’t mess about! The coupe concept car has elements of a modern-day Miura to it with a long bonnet and shot rear overhang. It is both aggressive and elegant at the same time, perhaps reflecting the two toned nature of the cars drivetrain. The Astern can drive for 31 miles on electric power alone whilst in a more exuberant moment, will get you from 0-62MPH in 3.0 seconds. Top speed is 199MPH. Driven sensibly 67MPG is said to be possible with CO2 emissions of just 98g/km.

This is a brave new world for Lamborghini, but if the Asterion LPI 910-4 is anything to go by, they are more than ready.
