Not that long ago we brought you news of the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo. A gentleman’s race car engineered to GT3 type standards but to be raced within the raging bulls own one make series. It looks seriously kick-ass! Now going beyond its own events, Lamborghini are to take the Huracan into the highly competitive GT3 class of European racing. Ready to burn your retinas out in this exceptionally bright green, this is the Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
The Lamborghini Squadra Corse team will field these cars taking the brand back into serious motorsport. Each GT3 is loaded with a 5.2 litre V10 engine which powers the rear wheels only, unlike the road car. Receiving the full racing car stripping out of unnecessary weight, the Lamborghini Huracan weighs just 1,239KG making it 36KG lighter than the Super Trofeo. Cog swapping is done via a 6 speed sequential gearbox. Aerodynamically the GT3 is highly competent thanks to some help from Dallara. A large rear wing, front splitter, skirts and diffuser not only add drama but also downforce.
Do you want one? Well, you are in luck as Lamborghini will happily sell you a Huracan GT3 for £275,873. We have no doubt that some established teams will take the Italians up on their offer.
