When Lamborghini replaced their best ever selling model with the thoroughly modern Huracan people did question if it was hard-core enough. Raging bulls traditionally were a bit tricky at times, but the new car is very easy to drive and not a hard customer when it comes to extracting performance. Some diehard Lamborghini fans might even say that these cars shouldn’t have all wheel drive to make them a bit more of a challenge. Well, Lamborghini has been listening and so at the LA motor show we have the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2.
Powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine, housed in the middle of this sculpture of speed, 571BHP is sent to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Whilst it does produce less overall power and torque in comparison to its AWD sibling, the experience is much more driver focused. Each of the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 modes has been adapted for rear wheel drive and it also wears a set of bespoke Pirelli tyres. A front bumper that increases downforce, remodelled rear bumper, and unique alloy wheels further set this model apart. 0-62MPH takes 3.4 seconds and it will go onto a top speed of 199MPH.
Hats off to Lamborghini, they know their customers well.
