Lotus is a name synonymous with racing. Founded by the legendary Collin Chapman, his passion for engineering drove him to build some of the greatest racing cars ever made. Both on road and out on track his machines earned a reputation for being some of the fastest cars on the planet. When you think Lotus in Formula One images of those famed black and gold cars might spring to mind. In 2011 those colours came back to the grid and now to celebrate 81 Grand Prix victories, the Lotus Exige LF1 is bringing them back to the showroom.
This special edition car is finished with paintwork mimicking that of the 2014 Formula One car. Lotus to date have won 81 Grand Prix and so only 81 examples of this LF1 will be built. Aside from the stripes this Lotus Exige LF1 gets a set of sticky Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres and new disc brakes. The Exige’s Race Pack, that includes launch control, comes as standard. This 3.5 litre V6 sports car produces the same 345BHP as the standard model which means it is good for 0-62MPH in just 4 seconds.
The Lotus Exige LF1 will set you back £62,900 but also includes perks such as F1 factory tours.
