The McLaren 12C is quite the machine. A match for the Ferrari 458 Italia out on track, it has to be regarded as one of Britain’s greatest exports, although there are very few these days. Its twin-turbocharged 3.8 litre V8 engine has been built using the experience they have gained via the world of Formula One. When you put it like that, is it surprising that it is such a good car? However despite just how good it may be, the McLaren 12C’s production run has come to an end… For now at least.
McLaren has announced the their 12C production run will pause whilst they attend to their new super car, the 650S coupe and spider. The hardcore variant of the McLaren 12C uses the same 3.8 litre engine but produces 641BHP. 0-62MPH is done and dusted in 3 seconds. Demand for the 650S is strong and whilst the McLaren 12C will be produced along side it, the 650S is expected to take more orders year on year.
