Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² Rocks Geneva

Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4²The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 was, by any measure, the maddest of mad moments from the German company. Letting their AMG engineers go wild with a G Wagon usually results in the G63 AMG which is a pretty bonkers machine anyway. Add a dose of extra crazy to the pot and you get a six wheeled behemoth. That car, if you can call it a car as opposed to a MONSTER TRUCK, was made in very low volume and so we thought that would be the end of it. We were wrong! Arriving at the Geneva motor show is the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² and it doesn’t give a damn what you think!

Don’t go thinking that just because the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² has two less wheels than the 6×6 makes it any less of a beast. Sitting high above the ground this G-Class based 4×4 wears 22 inch rims surrounded by 325/55 tyres. 450mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of 1 metre means there is very little Mother Nature can do about its progress. Barreling up steep 52 degree inclines, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² could just be the worlds ultimate off-roader. Powered by a 416BHP turbocharged V8 engine, the same V-mounted turbo unit as found in the AMG-GT, this new model will surly be a hit out in the deserts where there is plenty of oil money to afford one.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but it is safe to presume that most GL owners won’t be able to stretch to the upgrade.
