The premium hatchback segment has exploded over the past 8 months with the likes of both Audi and BMW redefining the class. Mercedes-Benz, never to be seen far from its competitors, dived in with the handsome new A-Class recently. However, The other two brands have both produced performance derivatives of their hatchbacks. Enter AMG.
Set to be revealed later this week, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG has had its secrets let out like a cat from the proverbial bag. The hot hatchback receives 330BHP from a turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol engine. This grunt is then channeled into all four wheels meaning that the baby AMG can achieve a 0-62MPH time of 4.9 seconds. All the usual German refinement is expected but until the cars official debut, that is it for now.
