The Mitsubishi GT PHEV Concept has been revealed ahead of its world debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of this month. The manufacturer says that the concept is a ‘high-end next-generation SUV that easily takes many road surface conditions in its stride.’ Meaning if the new concept reached production it could serve as the company’s next flagship model.

As the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, or PHEV nameplate dictates the drivetrain as Mitsubishi’s hybrid system, using a trio of motors. The company claim an electric-only range of roughly 75 miles whilst and combined range of 750 miles is claimed. New technology finds its way into the GT PHEV as well with a more advanced battery pack. Power is sent to all four wheels making for a more complete vehicle.

Little information has been revealed about the interior as of yet, other than a ’cocooning dashboard’ and a burgundy leather trim to match the roof. The Ground Tourer will also feature Mitsubishi’s connective technology with route information, such as terrain and weather data, to aid in the cars handling and fuel consumption.

The Nissan Juke also now has an all-electric rival in the form of the Mitsubishi eX concept, which will now go into production following its appearance at the Tokyo motor show last year. The eX concept will join the Mitsubishi GT PHEV as well as the Outlander and Outlander PHEV in the Paris Motor Show this month.
