At the New York Motor Show, Mitsubishi have revealed a face-lifted version of the Outlander SUV and is expected to arrive in the UK in the middle of this year. Taking inspiration from the XR PHEV II, this new Mitsubishi Outlander benefits from ‘Dynamic Shield’ styling. This new design style is making it’s way across the entirety of the Mitsubishi range and consists mainly of new bumpers, halogen headlights and a new grille.
The Japanese manufacturer have also taken measures to ensure a better drive. This is achieved with a more rigid structure as well as redesigned suspension. There is also greater sound insulation for less road noise when inside the cabin and a new CVT gearbox offers better performance.
On the inside, the driver is greeted with higher quality materials than before as well as a revised steering wheel design. The Mitsubishi Multi Communication System features sat-nav and a new sound system and dashboard have also been added to the Outlander.
Mitsubishi claim “over 100 engineering and design improvements” but it will seem they are mostly subtle tweaks being carried over to this new model due to no mention of a new engine line-up for 2016 as of yet. Further specifications and pricing will be available in the near future.
