More Powerful Megane RS Spied

At this moment in time the king of the hot-hatch hill for us is the Ford Focus RS, though that position was hotly contested by the Renault Megane 250. The Megane is a fantastic to drive and in many respects a much more balanced car in comparison with its main competitor. However the key reason the Megane lost out to the Focus was power, or lack of it. The French hatch produces 250BHP to the monster 300BHP from the RS, meaning that as soon as the Ford gets into 3rd gear the Renault isn’t seen for dust. But that could be all about to change…

Thanks to these brilliant pictures provided by Autocar we can see exactly what Renault is up to. These spy shots of what looks to be a hotter Megane RS provided enough evidence for us to assume that the French company will produce a much more powerful variant of their Hot-hatch to compete with the Focus. Various sources are speculating close to 300BHP from the car 2.0 litre engine putting in on par with the Focus RS and upcoming Astra VXR. This undisguised mule shows some new bulges and grills that the new cars body will receive. At the moment this is all the info we can get hold of but if we unearth anything new we will let you know.
