It was revealed a few weeks ago that the legendary Abarth would build their own roadster and that we should expect it at a motor show some time soon. The rebirth of the Legendary tuning arm of Fiat has had huge success with both the Punto and the 500, but the company are back with vengeance and are keen to show the world that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Their home-grown sports car prospect becomes even more tantalising when you hear that it is to be based on the amazing KTM X-Bow.
The X-Bow is a fantastically capable road legal track menace, a sports car in its purest form. According to Auto Express and “senior sources” within the company, KTM will provide a rolling chassis for Abarth to place their own engine in the middle. The car is expected on the road by 2013 and yes that is still a fair distance away, but we live in hope that this little car will be as kick arse as the badge on the bonnet.
