The new Alfa Romeo Mito is now on sale and has received an update for 2016. Alterations to Alfa Romeo’s supermini include a new engine choice, a new trim structure, more kit and some aesthetic changes. These visual changes aim to keep the new Mito consistent with the latest in the Alfa line-up.
Changes to the look include a new grille, a new rear bumper, refreshed alloy wheel designs and darker headlight detailing all of which make for a more potent design. Inside, the Alfa Romeo Mito receives new seat trim, a Uconnect infotainment system as well as new materials spaced throughout the dashboard and doors. The Alfa White colour option is also a first for the Mito as is the Giulia style font for the ‘Mito’ logo.
The new edition to the engine range comes in the form of a 1.3-litre JTDM-2 turbocharged diesel engine which produces 94bhp whilst emitting 89g/km of CO2.
There are now four levels of trim available: the entry-level Mito, Super, Speciale and Veloce trim. The standard Mito receives 16-inch alloys, air-conditioning, chrome detailing, a DNA driving mode selector, a Uconnect touchscreen display and DAB radio as standard.
The Super trim level gets 17-inch ally wheels, part-leather seats, parking sensors, a front centre armrest, floor mats, metal interior details, fog lamps and cruise control. An upgrade onto the Speciale trim adds on new alloys, red interior stitching, a new steering wheel, sports seats, tinted windows, more sports orientated instruments and carbon-fibre effect detailing on the exterior.
The top of the tree Veloce spec replaces the old Quadrifoglio Verde model as the fastest and most spec’d out of the bunch. Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, bigger brakes, twin exhaust pipes and sports suspension. Meanwhile, the inside of the Veloce comes with an upgraded infotainment system with sat-nav. The Veloce also gets a 168bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine making for a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds.
The new Alfa Romeo Mito is available to buy now with prices starting at £12,960.
