A product refresh is always good for business. Bring out a games console in a new colour and all of a sudden sales spring back into action. In the automotive world this cycle spans about a year bringing fresh ideas and technology to each model. Audi’s previous A6 Avant was fantastic, a massively practical yet wonderfully capable machine to lug you, your family and your dog across continents. This year Audi builds upon the formula once again.
The new Audi A6 Avant is even more refined than the model that went before it offering a sumptuous new interior. The car is now even lighter than ever with extensive use of aluminium to reduce emissions and maximise performance. The boot offers a generous 565 litres but this can grow to a mammoth 1680 litres with the rear seats down devouring the statistics of the BMW 5 series. Engines come in usual “anything you can think of” Audi fashion. The range topping petrol is a 3.0 litre TFSI with 295BHP and the top diesel comes in the form of a 241BHP turbocharged V6.
Prices are to start from around £30,000 with the first car arriving at the end of summer.
