Making it’s world premiere at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, the new Infiniti Q60 is a premium sports coupé which could give it’s German rivals a run for their money.
Lower and wider than Infiniti models before it, the new Q60 boasts a bold and muscular stance with sharp lines and edges to give it a purposeful and dynamic look. To match it’s styling, the Q60 has been given a ‘VR30’ 3.0-litre biturbo V6 engine as standard which produces 400bhp and one of the best power-to-efficiency ratios in the premiums sports coupe class, Infiniti claim. This engine then sends it’s power through a 7-speed transmission. Demonstrating the manufacturers intent for this machine to perform, the new model also comes with a rear-biased intelligent all-wheel drive system for greater stability and grip in less forgiving conditions. Interestingly, a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine is also available as an option for the Q60 which produces 208bhp, all of this power will be channelled through the rear wheels.
The Infiniti Q60 has been designed with the intent to not only be a comfortable cruiser, but an engaging sports car as well. To achieve this, the company have implemented their new Dynamic Digital Suspension which is intended to offer best in class handing and agility without compromising ride comfort. To further the level of driving engagement, there is also Infiniti’s Direct Adaptive Steering to give plenty of feel and feedback whilst the Drive Mode Selector can allow the driver to tailor steering response to their liking.
The interior also gets an upgrade with options such as white or red leather, aluminium or wood trim and silver glass fibre accents. There are also some contemporary safety features such as forward emergency braking, reverse collision warnings and lane keep assist.
