Throughout the history of the motor car there has been iconic examples that will never fade into the pages of history. Cars like the Ford Model T, the Jaguar E-Type and the McLaren F1. The F1 held the record for worlds fastest production car for over a decade before releasing its crown onto the Bugatti Veyron. But now the Mc-Daddy is coming back with vengeance!
We have known for some time now that the successor to the McLaren F1 is on its way and so news of the car running tests abroad comes as no big surprise. What is interesting are the few tidbits that have leaked out about the upcoming king of supercars. Due in 2014 and not to be call the “F1”, the new McLaren will be powered by a 5.0 litre V8 engine. “Is that all? The Veyron has 16.4 litres…” This is very true but this car produces 799BHP and thanks to its weight, or lack of, performance figures are expected to be off the chart. Carbon-ceramic breaks are also said to be standard equipment. Good job as word has it that this mean machine will easily run to 200MPH in under 20 seconds!
