The build up to the greatest motor racing event in history has begun. The legendary Le Mans 24 hour gets closer with every hour and this year the fight at the front will be tighter than ever. Peugeot after unpredictable bad luck aim to take their crown back after Audi took full advantage of all 3 works cars spluttering to a halt in 2010. The thoroughly revised 908 was driven in anger for the first time at 12 Hour of Sebring.
The day began well for the French team with one of the two cars running claiming pole position and the other not far behind on the second row. The Pug’s set constantly the fastest times and both led the race at various points, however that rotten bad luck was just one corner away. Peugeot number 7 was leading when it decided to bid long time rival, Audi R15+, a personal fair-well on its last race appearance. The other Peugeot struggled to make progress with multiple safety cars being deployed and so finished 3rd. So it wasn’t the greatest first outing for the car but despite its problems the new 908 has shown that it is more than ready for the big fight.
