New Vauxhall Corsa VXR Blue Sees Red

The Vauxhall Corsa has been with us for 18 years now and over that time it has changed shape, price, become safer and gained a more mature persona. However one thing has remained at the core of the Corsa and that is its unrivaled dullness. The interior is bland, the ride firm and the steering fairly limp. The VXR performance variants come close to fixing these problems with more power and differing chassis set-up but they are still not the pick of the lot when it comes to hatchbacks. However the answer to all this little cars problems could be eradicated with a bit of blue…

This new addition to the Corsa range is named the VXR Blue and yes you’ve guessed it, it will only be available in blue. Besides the bespoke paintwork this car takes the new design features of the recently face-lifted Corsa and adds a bit of ASBO to the mix. The aggressive bodykit and blue trimmed interior do make the supermini much more eye catching yet the most interesting feature is under the bonnet. The 1.6 litre turbo engine develops the same 189BHP as the old VXR but now comes equipped with an over-boost button. Just one push gives the car 192 lb-ft  of torque allowing for a 0-60MPH run of 6.8 seconds.

The VXR Blue is available now starting at £19,425.
