The current financial climate has caused many casualties from model withdrawals to job cuts. Motorsport has also suffered with more manufacturers
pulling out of race events than ever seen before. Peugeot are not having a good time of things at the moment with them canceling last years Le Mans 24 hour entrant just before the engineers got on the plane to leave for the race. Hoping to restore some glory in the French brand, their attempt to climb Pikes Peak is a bold effort.
The Peugeot 208 T16 could just be the closest thing we get to a modern day Group-B rally car thanks to the events relaxed restrictions. To be piloted by 9 time World ally Champion Sebastian Loeb, this monstrous racer will compete in the unlimited class at Pikes Peak gunning for ultimate victory. Peugeot hope to recreate their victories of 1988 and 89 where a 405 T16 won the event outright.
