Long before the crossover became the dominant segment for manufacturers, the UK had a love affair with estates. The extremely practical family cars were relatively economical and not much more costly to buy than their hatchback counterparts. Since then the estate has been neglected a tad, but in a bid to increase sales across their ranges, the big brands are showing these cars some love again. The good looking Honda Civic Tourer is set to bring some style back to this arena, however, it shall not be alone.
To make its debut at the Geneva motor show, this is the rather sleek Peugeot 308 SW. Looking as handsome as the hatchback, if not more, this new car is not all show and no go. Claiming to have class leading boot space, the modern French estate boast 610 litres.Though the wheelbase of both the estate and the hatchback are the same, the SW is 327mm longer overall. Peugeot say that this car is 140KG lighter than its predecessor.
