Some people just don’t get the Porsche 911. They’re baffled how the company has the audacity to release what they call a “new car” every year with so few changes. What these people fail to understand is that the 911 is what you might call a work in progress and by that I mean it hasn’t reached its full potential as yet. With every incarnation they get a step closer to their goal, making just the changes that are required to overcome the issues of its predecessor. But today Porsche have revealed a new variant of said car and it brings drivers that step closer to the perfect rear engine car.
This is the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS and you will be eager to know that it has 408BHP courtesy of its 3.8 litre flat six that we know and love. The GTS is said to be the ultimate version of the Carrera blending refinement with the excitement of rear-wheel-drive. 420NM of torque is more than enough to pin you to your seat and with a 0-62MPH time of 4.2 seconds you are going to stay there all the way up to its top speed of 190MPH. The car comes in both coupe and cabriolet variants that are to be shown at Paris. On sale December this year.
