The German sports car manufacturer’s first attempt at a four door saloon was well received. Despite looking as attractive as a decapitated caw, the cars performance was never in question. Astonishingly it manages to give the feel of a very finely tuned performance machine, like the 911, yet seat four in true luxury. As a grand tourer it is a real mile muncher. However with competition in this newly emerging “super saloon” market becoming fierce, Porsche have now rolled out the big guns.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S becomes the new range topper with 550BHP being produced by its 550BHP twin-turbo. Its performance is unquestionable as 0-62MPH is done in just 3.8 seconds and won’t stop until it reaches a terminal velocity of 191MPH. Prices start from £122,623 leaving the more costly alternatives less ammunition to justify their cost. Torque levels are also at an impressive 750Nm and economy is unchanged from the Turbo model.
Porsche Turbo S goes on sale in June.
