Despite it likely not being a main concern for future buyers, Land Rover have kept this convertible at the core of the brand’s main values, as it has passed the off-road tests at Land Rover’s proving ground “with flying colours”. Video has been released of the world’s first compact SUV convertible as it took on the Eastnor Castle estate testing facility, demonstrating the company’s confidence in this new model.
Land Rover’s Chief Engineer of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross stated, “Land Rover prides itself on being a class leader when it comes to all-terrain capability and the Evoque Convertible is no different. Thanks to a combination of innovative engineering and the application of advanced technologies, Evoque Convertible will deliver a dynamic and assured SUV experience that has been tested around the world. We call it ‘The Convertible for all Seasons’.”
At the moment most other details seem to remain largely parallel to the standard Evoque as far as engine variants and specifications, but full details are yet to be announced.
Land Rover first confirmed plans for the highly anticipated convertible Evoque at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 and have wasted no time in developing, testing and then putting it on sale in the space of around a year. Making it’s debut at the LA motor show in November, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is set to go on sale in the UK during Spring 2016.
