Range Rover Evoque To Storm Dakar Rally

SHARE

The grueling Dakar Rally is one of the toughest in the world. Man and machine are tested to incomprehensible extremes in a bid for outright glory. These machines must be rugged and prepared for a journey that could well destroy them. Range Rover’s new Evoque has been selected for a 2013 attempt at claiming the crown.

Poole-based, not far from Inside Lane towers, rally team Excite is an all-British outfit. Their bio reads as follows: “The team combines world class drivers with an experienced management, marketing and support crew, working with the tough and reliable RaBe Race Cars vehicle to fly the flag for Great Britain in the spirit of all the great British explorers and adventurers from history.” Sounds great and their Evoque certainly looks the business!

Good luck to them.

  1. I saw the 3 door and 5 door models at last weekends Goodwood Breakfast meets, and to be completely honest I was dead impressed. The Evqoue still retains all the marques of what Range Rover stands for but introduces new aspects of a modern car reducing CO2’s and increasing MPGs. I have certainly seen a good few out on the roads now after a short time from launch and I have to say they do stand out and look very good amongst other cars. Well done Land Rover!
