The Subaru Forester has become one of the most reliable workhorses you could ask for. This rugged machine is as versatile as they come with capabilities of towing heavy trailers, climbing mountains or even taking the dog on holiday. Much like the Hilux it is well priced and is a good honest piece of engineering, it doesn’t claim to be anything special. That was until the Australian motor show where a rather interesting variant was unveiled.
This is the Forester S-Edition and it packs quite the punch as this “farm boy” takes to the streets. Powered by Subaru’s brand new 2.5 litre boxer engine it has 259BHP running to all four wheels. That is 32BHP more than the current top specification model and as well as the power boost it also gains a 20lb-ft of toque totalling 256lb-ft. This car is paired with a 5 speed automatic changeable with paddle shifters giving it that performance focused feel.
This is just a concept for now but production is more than likely to happen, though it may not make it to the UK.
